چکیده

The Jacobi-Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds were introduced in 2006 in the spectral theory and are polynomial refinements of the Legendre-Stirling numbers. Andrews and Littlejohn have recently given a combinatorial interpretation for the second kind of the latter numbers. Noticing that these numbers are very similar to the classical central factorial numbers, we give combinatorial interpretations for the Jacobi-Stirling numbers of both kinds, which provide a unified treatment of the combinatorial theories for the two previous sequences and also for the Stirling numbers of both kinds.

Characteristic points have been a primary tool in the study of a generating function defined by a single recursive equation. We investigate the proper way to adapt this tool when working with multi-equation recursive systems.

We study blowups of affine n-space with center an arbitrary monomial ideal and call monomial ideals that render smooth blowups tame ideals. We give a combinatorial criterion to decide whether the blowup is smooth and apply this criterion to discuss a smoothing procedure proposed by Rosenberg, monomial building sets and permutohedra.

We construct the finite dimensional simple integral modules for the (degenerate) affine Hecke-Clifford algebra (AHCA), H aff Cℓ (d). Our construction includes an analogue of Zelevin-sky's segment representations, a complete combinatorial description of the simple calibrated H aff Cℓ (d)-modules, and a classification of the simple integral H aff Cℓ (d)-modules. Our main tool is an analogue of th...
